Everything about Kyle and Miranda’s fall wedding screamed Virginia woodlands wedding! The natural, raw cut tree arch at the ceremony space was decorated in gorgeous, wild florals in shades of eggplant and violet. White pumpkins and gold accents brought the fall essence they hoped for, too, and I couldn’t have picked a more perfect setup for such a breathtaking, wooded backdrop. Their wedding was packed full of personal details, too, and that makes my sentimental heart just burst! A chair was left open at the ceremony for Miranda’s late great-grandmother, with a quilt that the two of them made together placed over the back, with a collage of photos softly resting against it. Miranda’s bridesmaids created a rap to “Ice, Ice Baby”, leaving the guests at the reception in stitches, for sure. The ring Kyle had made for Miranda is very sentimental, as it has his grandmother’s diamond, Miranda’s parents’ engagement diamond, and the small diamonds from a friendship ring Miranda’s mother gave her. (Miranda also wore heirloom jewelry worn by her mother and great grandmother!) The floral arrangements were created by Kyle’s mother, a project that Miranda and Deborah had worked on together. Kyle and Miranda’s Virginia woodlands wedding was absolutely gorgeous and sentimental, you guys! They even had little appearances made by their pups Renly and Rouse (for all you Game of Thrones fans), with a little nod to Renly for his one year rescue “Gotcha Day” – homemade dog treat for guests to take home to their pups.
How They Met: Kyle and I went to high school together, but never really spoke. Two days after Christmas in 2016, he messaged me and asked me how my Christmas was after I liked a picture of him holding a crying baby; I totally liked it because of the baby, haha! We hit it off and hung out December 30th and 31st and spent New Year’s together. We have been inseparable since.
When I Knew He Was The One: The night we met. I know that is cliché, but I was staying at my mom’s, by myself, that weekend to watch the house, and I was scared of being there by myself. So, the night we met I asked if he would stay there with me and he did, I knew then.
The Proposal: He got the ring 3:30 that afternoon, went straight to my dad and asked him, and was knelt down in the bathroom of all places, so I couldn’t see him initially. Then I walked in from work that evening. He said he couldn’t stand it and just proposed without a big production because he was so excited.
The Perfect Date Night: Going to eat out of town and going to a museum or a movie. Though, most of the time are dates are taking the dog, Renly, to the pond, fishing, and playing with him. (They’ve added a new pup to their family since they answered this! You’ll see him make his debut in the photos!)
As A Couple: We are kind of a mixture of each. We both hunt and fish together, but like to get dressed up as well. Both of us love taking our dogs places!
What They Love About Each Other: I love how tender-hearted he is, and he said that he loves how I care for others.
I’ll never forget just how beautiful this Virginia woodlands wedding was, and I’m so lucky to have been there to capture it for them! It was truly an honor to witness such sweet sentiments and love, and I hope your life together is filled with MANY MANY years of love and happiness, Kyle and Miranda! Thank you so much for choosing me to be there for you!
